Grants Made By IBBS

The Society awards either regular quarterly grants or “one off” payments for essential items, provided that in each case the committee of the Society are satisfied that financial hardship exists.

Historical Background of IBBS

The IBBS is a registered charity and was originally established unofficially in 1911 and officially inaugurated in Janauary 1912 with the following resolution:

"That a Benevolent Fund be formed ... the object of the Fund is to give assistance in any case of distress, after thorough examination of same by the Committee."

Walter Finch Memorial Fund

An annual award made at Christmastime at the discretion of the Committee in the Memory of Walter Finch (one of the founders of the Society and its first Chairman).

IBBS Educational Bursary Scheme

The IBBS Bursary offers support to those in the brewing and distilling industries in the UK and Ireland looking to gain professional qualifications.
